New Zealand Manuka Honey, renowned for its healing properties, is a key ingredient in various health-focused products. In Western culture, the Whisky & Honey home remedy has a rich tradition, though it's often exploited by cheap whiskey manufacturers, resulting in subpar blends.
Many whisky enthusiasts prefer making their own mixes, but this dilutes the alcohol content to around 35%. To address this issue, the Master Distiller at Puhoi Organic Distillery set out to create an exceptional blend. The result is an all-natural Manuka Honey Whisky, crafted in collaboration with Dr. Iryna Kirichuk (MD).
Dr. Kirichuk developed a unique botanical composition that enhances the healing properties of Manuka honey while avoiding the "muddy cloud" effect during honey dissolution. The result is a whiskey that retains the distinct notes of fine single malt on the nose, but offers a softer palate. Manuka Honey blends seamlessly into the taste profile, complemented by the botanical composition, leaving a delightful aftertaste. The spirit is clear, and its natural amber color is achieved without the use of caramel.
