Wine White Dona Fatima MANZWINE

14% Vol 750ml The fame of Cheleiros goes back to the Neolithic period, passing through the Romans and Moors, but it is in the 1950s that the stories and memories of wine began to characterize the village. Manzwine promises to transport you to a time when this village was famous for the quality of its vineyards and orchards, due to the quality of soil, plantation on slopes and terraces and a singular microclimate, demarcating the border between maritime influence and the mild protection of the Cheleiros brook. We present the lot of the first wine made exclusively with the almost extinct grape Jampal. Elegant, with a good acidity in mouth; new cask gives it an increase in complexity. Full in flavor, wide and very imposing.

Ready for something quite different? Jampal, a nearly extinct Portuguese grape, was rescued by a Brazilian ex-footballer who bought a derelict vineyard and revived the variety, making this very wine, which to date remains the only non-blended example. Just 32ha is planted, mostly around the Lisbon region. Toasty and nutty, with light citrus and stonefruit notes, this is a characterful savoury wine, dry with moderate acidity and good length. Try it with a lemon-scented roast chicken.

5 stars from Raymond Chan Wine Reviews By Candice Chow

Bright, pale yellow, even colour throughout. The nose is full and welcoming, aromas of apple, pear and tropical fruit melded with an amalgam of spices and subtle creaminess. Medium-full bodied, the palate is unctuous and creamy with bright spices and tropical melon fruit, pear interweave nutty oak details and saline on the finish. Battonage (lees stir) created a silky and creamy texture. There is a good balance of acidity and ripe fruit; spices tickle the palate with salinity drives a sustained, refreshing finish. This is a round palate medium-full bodied white with generous fruit, a spicy palate and a saline drive. Match with sweet & sour pork and whitefish over the next 3-5 years. 100% Jampal (the only wine in the world produced exclusively from this variety) sourced from the village of Cheleiros. Destemmed, pre-ferment maceration, fermented in stainless steel to 14% alc. Aged in French oak for 6 months, regularly stirred lees. 18.5/20 pts (93 pts) June 2021

94 points / 5 stars from Wine Orbit By Sam Kim

This is gorgeously styled and elegantly complex, showing apricot, fig, lemon peel and oatmeal characters on the nose, followed by a wonderfully weighted palate delivering rich texture and fleshy mouthfeel. Generous and savoury with a lengthy engaging finish.

Wine Red & Dry Saperavi Chateau Loghiny Barza 12.5% 750ml

Translated from the Georgian language, "saperavi" means "color," and one glance at Badagoni wine, Saperavi is enough to understand why this is so. Saperavi from Badagoni beautifully reflects the local terroir and decorates any meal, giving it a traditional Georgian flavor. Georgian wines in clay jugs are the embodied legacy of local winemaking. Drinks in this design demonstrate not only luxurious organoleptic properties, but also a high status, as well as a connection with the history of Georgia.
